MOOD: Click on a mood as general as "happy". Get mor specific with "hopeful." Add "wonder". Music is profiled and cross-linked by 116 different moods-- from bittersweet to triumphant. It's amazing where the pathways of mood can lead you.

STYLE: Now, cross-reference mood with musical style. Or search by style alone.
The Elasticmusic catalogue represents 90 styles.

SUBJECT: Quickly find music well suited for particular subjects or search by one of one of our 48 subjects for a great starting point. Each provides a range of choices which can return possibilities you may not have otherwise thought of.

TEMPO: Match your film cut, the tempo of a temp track, or find an overall pace. (Use our Quick Clock TM method to match a tempo exactly with pieces in our collection.) To match an edit, time 10 beats with your stop watch, enter the number of seconds, and you'll get pieces that match that tempo. Now you can explore different musical options without changing your rough cut! You can search for pieces that match your desired tempo exactly or pieces with an approximate pace you have in mind. Search for a tempo alone or in combination with our other search criteria.

INSTRUMENTATION: Do you have horns in mind, strings, or jazz piano? Vocals? An extraordinary range of instrumentation is profiled and linked to our other search pathways.

ENDINGS: Which will work better -- a button finale or a fade? It's easy to find out. We have :60 and :30 second versions of the full length musical pieces, offered with either button or fade endings. You can find the type of ending you want by including that in your search. Button endings have been crafted to set up tag lines and product shots that would typically appear at the end of a :30 or :60. Fades have been left long, so tracks can be edited to hit with your picture, and still have sufficient music for your ending.
Alternative Versions Too!
Many tracks have alternate structures or alternate orchestration for the same edit length. One edit may have an extended intro, the other a short one. One edit may have a lift in energy 10 seconds into the spot, while the other edit lifts in energy 20 seconds in. Some alternate edits of the same piece evolve in different ways. One may build from verse to chorus, while an alternate edit may start on the chorus and keep building from there. You can quickly test alternate musical structures to see what works best with your film cut, voiceover, storyboard or concept.
